Terms & Conditions

Human Technology supports the principles of Open Access publishing. The journal’s Open Access publishing policy is in line with the principles of Creative Commons licensing, which brings benefits to both the authors published in this journal and to its readers.

Authors: The copyright of the published articles belongs to the author(s) without restrictions. The Agora Center, University of Jyväskylä, holds the copyright for the journal issues and for its Internet site. The author grants to Human Technology the ability to publish the accepted manuscript following copyediting and for the journal to be identified as the original publisher. Additionally, the author agrees to extend certain rights to the readers of the journal, as outlined below. The author also agrees to not distribute versions of the paper submitted to or accepted for publication in the journal prior to the final published version being available on Human Technology’s Web site as a separate paper and within the full issue. As copyright holder of a paper published by Human Technology, the author can distribute, share, archive, or republish the published manuscript without restriction but acknowledging the original source (preferably with a link to Human Technology's archives).

Readers: Under the CC BY NC license to which Human Technology ascribes, readers are free to download, print, copy, link to, distribute, and display the articles, as long as it is for noncommercial use, the original author(s) is given credit, and original source is acknowledged. In any of these cases, readers should note the terms and conditions of the Creative Commons licensing under which the original paper was published. This license does not preclude larger legal and moral rights held by authors and third parties, specifically related to privacy, publicity, and derogatory treatment. Whenever possible, readers drawing on the research of authors published in Human Technology should publish under the same conditions. Readers wishing to use the article for any purpose other than those stated above, including commercial and/or reprint permissions, should seek permission directly from the author.

Authors or readers who archive, distribute, share, or republish any articles published by this journal should use the PDF version (or associated URL or DOI) as published on the journal’s Web site, available within the applicable issue in the archives, thus noting that Human Technology is the original publisher of the manuscript.
